Lottery Singapore

Lottery Singapore is a legal form of gambling established in Singapore. It is operated by Singapore Pools, the only lottery operator recognized by the government of Singapore. It offers Toto lottery games and other services. Toto is a game where people try to match three or more of seven numbers in order to win a cash prize. The jackpot amount varies depending on the number of digits matching and the bet size. The winnings can be claimed up to 180 days after the draw.

The Toto lottery game is regulated by the Tote Board, a statutory body under the Ministry of Finance. The statutory board governs lottery operator Singapore Pools, which operates 4-D, Toto and Singapore Sweep, as well as sports betting on association football and motor racing. It also regulates horse racing and organizes the Singapore Turf Club, which operates races on the Singapore racecourse.

Toto was first launched in 1968 and has gone through a number of changes over the years. In the early stages of the game, prizes were very small. In 1981, the prize fund was increased from SGD$300,000 to SGD$500,000, and the jackpot was changed to a progressive system.
